Default Build update

So Ive been a little quiet for a while on the forum because Ive had a couple of manic weeks ar work,

But I decided that this weekend I was going to spend it working on the roadster and booked friday off accordingly.

The weekend has been interspersed with road trips down to see AshG on saturday morning to collect a Mega Jolt and to see Alan at Premier wiring systems to order my wiring loom.

A little ebay jaunt sees me the owner of a pair of caterham rear lamps.

So on to the build update the semi circular plates have been removed the the chassis welded where i nicked it the the plasma cutter.

the side panels have been fitted and the holds cut, what a nerve racking job that is! unfortunately Ive had a belt snap on my air sander and damaged the gel coat but Andy @ Saturn is going to help mne with some gel coat and catalyst to repair the damage.

the nose cone has been fitted with both side panels in situ and Cleco'd down. looks sweet too!

and then the rear tub was fitted and cleco'd down to, I havent cut the suspension access holes yet as i dont want to weaken the panel so i have makred them and will cut them when i finally fit the panel.

Tomorrow nites job is to refit the pedal box, to cut and rivet a plate in place for the passanger foot well and to run brake and fuel lines down the transmission tunnel ready for the wiring to be run hopefully next saturday.

if i can find the last couple of axle stands i may even drop the engine and gear box into place.

I am currently struggling to removed one of my bolt on drive shafts for refurb as it just keeps breaking TX40 bits. im starting to think i may need to apply some heat to it.

Other than the calamity of the welder wire speed knob being broken off my welder and running out of gas things are going pretty smoothly.

Drive shaft bolts.

1. Clean out as much gunge from the torx as possible.
2. Get torx bit, and an extensiom. Place in hole.
3. Wack extension 20 times with a lump hammer
4. Apply rotational force with a long breaker bar, do not shock to try and rotate.

Works every time for me and I have done quite a lot of them.
