One Haynes Roadster Done Woo Hoo
Hi All
Just to let you all know that I've now finished my build it has past certification got a warrent (mot) and is registared. The engine is a 2 litre toyota 3sge beams same as in a lexus IS200 it's a bit tall hence the bonnet scoop, in standard form this should produce 210hp. I would like to take this time to thank Andy at Saturn for the nose cone, front and rear guards. Also the guys at Car Builder solutions how they get parts to the other side of the world in 5 days is behond me. All the poeple that contribute to this forum it makes life a lot easier and add motovation. Last but not least the British government for having a weak pound for the last couple of years as it's made buying parts a lot cheaper Time to go for a spin before winter sets in Cheers Steve IMG_0981.jpg IMG_0982.jpg IMG_0983.jpg IMG_0986.jpg |

Congratulations! Very nice car indeed, you can be proud of you. And it should feel very good to be able to drive it on the roads now (shame that you're entering the winter over there though )
Now you have to tell us everything about how you did the wind screen and which whipper model/motor you used Any build thread or blog we can visit about that?

Looks stunning and give me a great boost if you can do it in New Zealand then I should be able to get it sorted here.

Nose Badge
Hi I got the little haynes nose sticker made up at a sign shop just took the book in and the guy did some photo's $20 for 4 (10 quid). The one in the grill I got laser cut at work.
The windscreen I made as per the book except it's out of 2 bits of angle with the glass glued to one and the other side is rubbered in like an aluminium window, I did this so if i need to put a roof on later I can add attachments. The wipers and wiper motor are from a Mini. If you are going to do your own windscreen when you do your pattern make sure that you have the rubber that goes under it first it makes a big difference to the profile. |
