Nice work.

Have you fastened the scuttle there? The reason i ask is because i can't decide where to line mine up - If i line up the front edge with the position in the book, then the back edge (dash side) seems to be too long. The bend in the side panel won't line up with the end of the scuttle. But if i line up the bend in the side panel (near the chassis upright), then the front of the scuttle seems too wide.

(that's assuming the bend in the side panel will follow the angle of the chassis (at the upright)

Hope that makes sense

How did you place yours?

Also, anyone know the distance along the bottom edge of the bonnet?

Cheers

Dave

Best bit so far: Getting it running
Worst bit so far: Cutting steel for wishbones and engine mounts.
Most annoying bit so far: Generator packing up half way through welding.

Good going Nick,

You've progressed from when i last saw it, have you made an appointment for the exhausts yet?

Kind regards

Not yet John, I was hoping to run all the break lines tomorrow, so then it should move and stop unde its own power. Should make loading it onto the tailer a bit easier!

As for the scuttle position, I just lined the front of the GRP up with the rear of the cross member. I guess I will not know the final position until I have the bonnet! Its just a screw slots to alter it.

Hi Nick,

I may be down your way again next week, so I'll drop you a line to see if you're about and pop in and see you and your dad.

Kind regards

John

The bottom corners of the dash line up with the chassis uprights. The fiberglass scuttle is longer than the book spec, so lining up the front edge doesn't work.

Just letting you know, as if you get it wrong and start attatching wires to it, may cause problems. Also, the dash may need altering (my scuttle expanded slightly at the dash side as it came out the mold.

Hope that helps a bit..

Dave
