Default bellhousing dirt plate.

I don't know if anyone has a spare dirt plate that goes between bellhousing and engine that I could buy, or has anyone ever made one. This would be for the sierra type 9 box.
cheers tony

What engine are you fitting? The Pinto plate will not fit a Zetec, for instance. But you can just cut it out of 1 mm alluminium. Stand the bellhousing on the sheet, trace it, mark the holes, cut it out, then cut out the middle so it fits on your engine. Make some extra space so you can remove the sump without removing the gearbox if you have a pressed steel sump.

thanks but it is a zetec that it will be fitted to. I thought that as the starter is on other side you needed sierra dirt plate

Yep, that's what I've done for my Zetec with Type 9. Traced the outside and the starter hole of the Sierra dust plate, then modeled the inside shape after the Mondeo dust plate. You only need to clear the rear seal carrier and the end of the sump. Then cut one side like on the Sierra so the dust plate can be fit ant removed without removing the flywheel. A standard sierra dust plate will interfere with the Zetec rear seal casing.
