Default Suspension tubes

Hi there I know I asked tis recently but didn't get much in the way of response but is it ok to use 16 s.w.g. tubing for the wishbones etc as when I look at it, it seems awfully thin when you think about the amount of work that the suspension does. I know it says 16 gauge in the book but I just wanted to see what most people are using

Many thanks
