Dvla
Hi All
Having lots of trouble with DVLA at borehamwood. Looking like I will not get my car on the road till the end of next mouth. DVLA rang me to say that I would only get a Q plate as I didn’t have the V5 form or a receipt for the chassis that I made! Gave them all the receipt for the alloy and steel I bought. The woman at dvla is saying that I need to get the v5 in my name so she is righting to the old man I got it from. I know he has moved so the address that she will right to will not be the one on her records. The car has been off the road since 1996 when he had a hart attack. That means it will take 21days for a no response. I told her that the cover note from the insurance would run out by the time they have done all that so that would mean I wouldn’t get the road tax. She wouldn’t book me an inspection till after the 21 days. I complained so she said I could bring it to them for inspection. But this is a problem as I would have to trailer it there. So after more complaining she said I could bring it there on trade plates as I have access to some. She booked me a time for Tuesday at 10 am. I asked does that mean I will get my plates then she side definitely not. Well pissed off with it all as I got first time pass and now waiting so long to get it on the road. Frank. |

Sorry your having so much trouble, I dragged my car into the DVLA car park on my way back from SVA with the pass certificate, sat in the Q with the other punters, plonked all the forms, pictures, receipts, old V5 V55 etc.. on the counter and after she had a butchers at the car I walked out 20 minutes later with a new tax disk and even the number I had on retention assigned to the car.
Hope you get it sorted soon. Steve |
