Default chassis paint or powdercoat

hi all builders just wondering what would be the best solution to finish the chassis

PAINT:what type is hammerite up to it????
:2k / celly / truck paint

POWDERCOAT: if i need to weld after for some reason will it wreck it

are there any other ways of finishing your chassis info much needed as im unsure what is best for my chassis

kind regards Dan the Digger

i sprayed mine with epoxy mastic 121 from rust.co.uk the car has been on the road for 2 years now an there is not a spot of rust on it to date so far. i have chipped it a couple of times with tools etc but it touches up nicely with a bit of halfords satin black and doesn't show.

I painted mine with an epoxy twin pack paint over lead oxide primer. Can weld to chassis and easy to just reapply primer and paint at these areas again which I have done with mine a couple of times when changes are made.

Except for being expensive, with powder coating you are stuffed if the chassis was not prepared (shotblasted) correctly, PC tends to "peel" off when damaged - seen this on someones chassis recently. And you cannot weld on the chassis later again...

i found chassis black over isopon zinc 182 primer works real well as the primer has etch qualitys and chassis black is pritty chip resistent (i have bashed my chassis about a fair bit in my build)
2l of each will be plenty if your spraying and use celulose thinner
cheap and easy to use
2k need air feed masks btw as it has isocynate in it you dont want that in your lungs or on your skin!
