Default Lucas Alternator Wiring - Sense Check

Am I right in thinking that with my Lucas alternator with two big spade terminals and one small, that the small goes to the dash light, and either one of the large spades goes to the battery, or do they both need to go to the battery? I seem to remember someone saying that the two large spades are connected internally anyway. Also, does it need a seperate earth, it doesn't have an earth connection, so I'm guessing not.

Cheers

Adrian

think its the small one to the light - must be there or it wont charge
the two big ones both go to the battery - they do the same job
the casing should be earthed thro the mounts and then thro the engine block and then thro a engine earth strap to the chassis
