Default MX5 build engine cooling

Hi has anyone building with mx5 engine seen/used the conversion to the cooling system that Mike the king of Miata's on you tube shows, I saw this a while ago and it looked a good idea.

You move the thermostat and sender unit to the rear of the engine and the blanking plate from the rear to the front, it makes a better circulation.

Anyone got any thoughts?.

Mick.

You mean a coolant reroute?

Loads of (mostly tuned) MX-5s have had this done to improve cooling on the number 4 cylinder. There were a few group buys on MX5Nutz (which I linked to on here when those group buys were live) where you could buy a reroute spacer and a blanking plate. Unless you were going to tune the engine or do lots of track days, it might be one of those things tha's nice to have but not essential. The Ma5da race cars for example, use the standard cooling system in its entirety AFAIK.
