I'd just like to add my support to the effort you chaps are putting in to forming a club. I know that it takes a lot of time and effort to sort all this sort of stuff out, it is appreciated.

As has probably already been said I believe a club to support Haynes builders is a very good idea.

I was up at Stoneleigh on Sunday and put a few faces to names; sorry I could not make it to the inaugural meeting in the evening but here is my two-penneth’s worth:

An active forum is the best asset a club can have. The only thing that is in the back of my mind is that the forum (as I understand it) belongs to and is administered by Haynes. If we were to set up our own web site and use the Haynes forum, we ought to, out of respect, gain Haynes' permission to link to it and advertise the forum as the 'official' Haynes Sports Car Club's forum. I believe that the fostering of a good relationship with the administrators of the Haynes Forum is of fundamental importance to the future of our club. Can we try to establish a point of contact between the club and whoever is responsible for the forum within Haynes?

I'm afraid I don't have too much to offer the club but I have been told I have a bit of a 'thing' with respect to punctuation, grammar and spelling so if you need anything proof read (e.g. web-site articles, news letters), when the time comes, I could be your man!

Keep up the good work.

eSteve,

I hear what you are saying and agree.

The subject of the forum and the HSSC did come up in informal conversation.

I think the general consensus was that the forum would run and continue untouched the club would be a totally different entity, there to deal with club business.

Cheers Ginge

Great to see things moving on so rapidly. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to set this up and volunteered their services. As soon as everythiing is setup I will be joining straight away.

On thought I had was presumably there would be a number of club events arranged - how about one at the Haynes Museum? Perhaps next summer we could meet up down there and maybe persuade them to let us use their track? Hopefully the single seater might even be out by then and a fair few roadsters on the road.

Esteve,
thanks for your support of the club & your offer of help in proof reading etc,

as Ginge has said, the discussion regarding the forum did come up at the meeting & was agreed by all that THIS forum is THE forum & that the "club" would be an extension to the forum & in no way compete with it, to the point that when a "Club " website is created it would direct viewers to this forum.

It was nice to meet you at the weekend to talk "Roadster",

David....
Thanks also for your kind words of support, & yes we will hopefully be arranging "get togethers" & club events in the future & the idea of all having a day at the Haynes museum is high on the wish list, as then we could have a club day & like you say maybe get chance to use the Haynes museum track,
Its an exciting time both for the creation of the Club & the Marque of cars that we are all enjoying so much.

cheers
andy

A little progress on the web design. Still just sorting out the general look and then once happy with that I will turn that into a template for a CMS, Probably Joomla as I know that the best and it has a lot of Plugin options.

Anyway here's the latest. Comments welcome.

I'm liking the look of that MM. I presume that will be a menu on the left, main content in a scrollable window in centre and pictures on right?
