CVH Coolant Temp Sensor.
Having nearlly completed my radiator and coolant pipe fit (see my build thread) I've realised I don't have a water temp sensor anywhere in the system.
The radiator has the hole for the radiator fan sensor there is the same dimension hole in the CVH thermo housing (I assume this was for the same rad fan switch in the fiesta CVH install it was originaly from). So it would be great if I could get a temp sensor to fit the threads in the CVH thermo housing, but the sender I have are a smaller thread. Can you get them in the larger thread size, or any other tips on where to put the sender?

Ok the fan switch is M22.
I think the standard for temp senders are m14. I've found this adapter but its M22 to M10, maybe i can get a m10 sender? http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/B...-_M10x1_ADAPT5

Mike,
Because I used the M22 hole in the radiator as the filling point for the coolant system, and fitted the fan switch in the thermostat housing I had the same problem as you. In the end I drilled & tapped a hole in the inlet manifold flange plate where the water would have originally gone out of the engine into the manifold.

thanks dave, thats another option a m10/m14 hole on the inlet manifodl plate that's blocked off the old water feed.
Might try the brass adapter first though, I need to blank it off with something anyhow!

you need to fit a temp sensor pre stat so it sees block temp and a fan switch post stat so it only runs fan when rad temp stays high
