Default 1996 Sierra XR4x4 V6 Doner Car

I have aquired a 1996 Sierra XR4x4 V6 Doner Car with ABS for very few pound notes. Has any one had experience in using this as a Doner Car, and if so how much can be used, and what will I have to aquire from other sources? I am assuming that the rear axles, prop shaft etc can be used, but have concerns on the size on the engine block and gear output.

you can use all the bits other than the gearbox. a type 9 or mt 75 wont set you back too much

if you want to use the abs i can give instruction but you wont need it to be honest as it will only get on your nerves round a track

Cheers, this is a good point, but being a typical engineer I like the challenge of making things work!, I may regret that statement! guess this can be disabled for track days.

No problems just pull the fuse when you go on a track.

I'm trying to build the BMW ABS from my doner as it adds safety for the road and I think it may be required under the new IVA test.

Can't the MTX75 box from the 4x4 be used without the front drive shafts? or will the drive on the side of the box fout the tunnel?

you can send it away and have it adapted to 2wd but it will cost more than a type 9/mt75 although it will be stronger. i did look into it once but decided against it due to cost and keeping things simple. i believe there is also an issue with the input shaft being too long/short that needs to be modified.
