Smile Zetec 2.0 and the IVA

Hi all, was wondering if you could clear something up, I plan to fit a zetec 2.0 from a 93 model Mondeo, do I need to keep the cat? I plan to run bike carbs and megajolt ignition. I read somewhere on here you don't need to have a cat if it is pre 93, but for the life of me, can't find it again to confirm it.
Cheers
Shaun

All you need is a letter from Ford with the build date of the engine, as long as it comes back with pre Aug 95 you don't need a cat.
