Well done Spike, looks like there will be a few new ones on the road this year. I hope your paper work doesn't take too long. Enjoy.

Spoke to the DVLA Case Worker today, basically they are unsure how to register it at Swansea. They know it will have an age related plate, however as the approval certificate states a build of 2013, he does not know how to input the data.

He said he will register it anyway on Friday this week if he cant get any answers from anyone in his Department, but may have to change it at a later date!

Ehh?

It's cut and dried, it's built from substantialy second hand parts on a new chassis, it gets an age related plate based on the doner which is determined from the documentation from the donor V5 which has the engine number.

Or did you not have the corrosponding V5?

I'll be honest, I'm half tempted to get the likes of Paul Jepson to handle the paperwork when my time comes for IVA. It's an extra expense but it ought to make the whole process less stressful.

Great news, I called them today and they have raised the paperwork and provided an age related registration number. Paperwork and tax disc in the post. That was exactly 14 working days as per the guidelines. They may need to make a minor amendment when someone tells them how to do it properly.

Pretty cool number plate also for free

I am sure I read very recently that if you receive one or the other (tax disc or V5) you can drive straight away.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.
