A 1.7 Puma Zetec-S would be another good option too.

Got offered a 1.7 out of a Puma Racing when I first statrted looking at engines....... now that WAS top of my list.... put the price was offensive

I'm planning to use a BMW 328i, engine and box.
(but the box may change to a BMW 6-speed)

Have already got my 1.8 pinto, type9 gearbox complete with new clutch, re-con head, new alternator and new dizzy all for the princly sum of £100. SWMBO has also give me permission to purchase some webbers for it when ready as we have just sold a property so life will be easier happy days

Am currently fitting 302 ford v8. 90 degree v instead of the more common 60 degree for the modern crop of v6 so sits really low in chassis. hp is anything you want from mild

My donor is a 1.6 pinto, but Ive got a 2.0 pinto, with a burton stage 3 head, kent cam, vernier pulley. needs some tlc though.
