Default 1.8 CVH with Carbs Fuel regulator

Hi does anyone know what the regulator on a CVH 1.8 regulates to ? I am using bike carbs and these need 3psi but not sure what the standard CVH pump and regulator give

I was just going to use the fuel pump off the same bike as my carbs came from as I thought that gave you the right psi? Is the regulator part of the pump or something separate?

The regulator is separate from the pump, I have a bike pump as well but wanted to see if the standard CVH setup would work. Do you have any ideas where you might mount the bike pump ? I was looking at the back off one of the bottom roll bar fixings as its close to the tank but it would probably be easier under the bonnet

Not yet, I'm hoping davedew can answer when he comes on as he has a cvh setup and running with bike carbs. I think there would be space in the back end somewhere as it's not too big same as the bonnet but I was wondering from an efficency standpoint did it make a difference how far the pump was from the carbs? eg is it better to have it really close and pull the fuel a long distance and then push a short one so to speak?

Question

Would a bike pump keep up with the fueling requirements of the car?

might be better off with one of these,http://www.shawsmotorsport.co.uk/cub...p_facet_v2.jpg

and then fit one of these to get the pressure right.http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...Pjo_Dm83t49e2A

Bike pump if using bike carbs, they self regulate once up to pressure they cut out

Apparently mounting them at the rear under the tank is the ideal position

I didnt know this at the time so mine was mounted at the front near the master cylinder

I covered nearly 3k miles last year with the cvh engine and no fuel problems and about 1k so far this year with the st motor, again with no fuel delivery issues

As Mark says. Use a bike pipe, and bin all the original cvh fuel pump & vapour seperator. Mount the pump as close as possible to the tank, but lower than the tank. My pump fitted perfectly in an exhaust clamp that I have got welded to RS3.
