Default Expand frame

Hi folks,

I am a newbie here. I am in the process of planning my build and a have a question. As you know the locost frame is quite narrow, about 1100 mm wide. Minus the width of the transmission tunnel and it becomes very difficult to find sport seats that will fit. So I want to know if it is possible to make tha frame wider?

In theory yes, but it will throw off most of the dimensions.

If you make the front wider, the suspension geometry will need looking at. You would also then need to make/have made custom bodywork, as nothing standard will fit.

McSorely did several versions of the 'LoCost' chassis, +4 width, +4 length etc. so whilst it is doable, it's a fair bit of work.

IIRC however, someone else on here (Dogwood maybe?) is building a wider version.
