Chassis fully welded

Hi I have managed to complete all the welding on my chassis apart from engine gearbox and rad mounts, what's the best next thing cut out portion of BR10 ?

My chassis is quite rusted up in places so it's going to need a good clean up should I concentrate on this before considering fitting the floor and cutting out BR10?
For various reasons I have had to take my time building my chassis it is a good feeling to of reached this point I would not of got this far with out the help from the forum thankyou

Well done Dave ! It's a great feeling, for ages you doubt yourself, then one day, it all comes together. If your chassis is getting rusty, I would recommend that you get it finished ASAP, then book it in for soda blasting. Soda blasting is extremely effective, and doesn't generate as much heat as sand blasting. I live in Gloucester, and I have booked my chassis in for a soda blast & zinc phosphate anti rust protection, all for £180 ! If you live by me, I will give you their number. I have done a few car restorations, & I can't recommend this process strongly enough. Just make sure that all your weld are fully finished first. I am putting my wishbones in as well.

Thanks for the reply and thanks for the idea but I think I will just be rubbing down priming and painting the chassis just to save costs really but thanks again.

Angry grinder with a cup brush will bring the metal up good,

but they get everywhere those wires, cant go in the garage without getting one in my shoe!! :mad:

Hi Dave,
My friend Tony at work bought one of those sand blasters off eBay for around £100, well worth it if you have a good enough compressor.
We used it for loads of parts for the build in the end.

Thanks I will have a look at that as there are areas that will be tricky to get to with a wire wheel or emery cloth.
