Sierra ET is 38 that is 1 1/2" in to the arch
Mondeo can be as much as ET 59 which is 2 1/3" in
A spacer of 20mm would do it but you would need much longer studs fitted
Older rear wheel drive wheels such as those fitted to Escorts generaly have ET near zero
Caterham Minilite wheels are often ET23, I have a set of Two Gates 6x14 on the car which are ET23 and a set of Compomotive 6 x 13 which are ET 22

Do not be tempted to use the screw on stud extensions either replace the studs with longer ones or use a spacer that bolts to the studs then bolt the wheel to the spacer.

Please do not use spacers of more than 10mm that don't fix to the hub.
They dont support the studs or bolts at all putting a very big bending moment on the studs. The loads that go through the wheels and studs to the hubs can be huge (think about the size of some of our potholes!) and then multiply that by the length of the spacer.
