I know the recommended kit for zetec to type 9 is mondeo clutch but I was looking at the sierra clutch as it is almost same size and cheaper. I only need friction plate as it should fit into my escort cover plate. Has anyone fitted one of these and do you still use capri release bearing. Also GBS do a extended clutch fulrum pin which gives full travel on pedal, has anyone tried one of these?
cheers

CT 133 is release bearing you need as it is bigger and when I get in the garage at the weekend I will check that flywheel and clutch from the 16 zetec and like I said I am fairly sure you can use the Sierra plate in the Zetec cover.
And don't forget to put first motion shaft bearing in Zetec crank.

Mondeo 1.8 clutch disk is 220 mm in diameter and Sierra is 215 mm, that's all the difference there is. Should work. The fitment of the release bearing depends solely on the clutch cover used.

you need the mondeo pressure plate to fit the std zetec flywheel and most want to buy a kit with a new friction plate that fits the type9
so you end up needing a mondeo mk1(mtx box) clutch kit and a longer type9 release bearing (ct133 iirc) as the fwd clutch pressure plate are short throw
