View Full Version : Inertia Switch location

Hi,
Where is the best place for the inertia switch of the fuel pump in the roadster? It is difficult to find a place at the rear of the car where it can be protected from water projection from the road/wheels, road debris, dust, (ice, salt, :) ), etc.
Where did you guys installed yours?

This one passed me by and the early MX5 doesn't have one so just ordered one from ebay. Thanks!

I will probably put mine under the dash if I can so I can tie it to the fuel pump live there.

Possible source of problems,but Rovers had them and still do under the bonnet,its only a ball bearing sitting in a cup.

Thank you for the replies my friends.
Now that I have cut the loom to shorten and reorganize it, I know where the lead cable of the pump is on the front part, so I will install the inertia switch under the scuttle or on the bulkhead, it will be safer and easier. So I reconnected the in-tank pump directly to the lead cable, and will insert he inertia switch in the front.
