Missed the roadsters 5th birthday yesterday. Haven't done too much for the last 18 months. A few things to sort still, putting in for IVA this week. Phoned Chadderton who said that its about a 3 week waiting list.

good luck with your test, the best thing you did was miss England playing.
I have heard that they are playing a friendly on Saturday against Iceland to compensate their fans, and if the win they will be playing Aldi on Tuesday and Tesco friday

No supprise, it failed, mainly locknuts and trim. But the big one which I hadn't considered, was the emissions. They measured 2291 against a maximum of 1200. Good apparently is 200. The car had a slight misfire and the tester suggested that that may be problem. At least no major problems with the chassis.

Only got the emissions to sort now. Overall I think its been a good day, even the self centering worked !! I can definitely see light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to the many on this forum who have helped me along the way.

Having problems with the engine dying on me. I can run it for half an hour - slight misfire now and again. But when I tried to take it to a garage to test the emissions after about 1/2 a mile it started to badly misfire and finally stopped, as if you'd switched the engine off. I checked for loose connections and swapped the carb ( Pierburg ). Gave it rest for a few days, tried it again today, ok idling for 15 mins. As soon as I got to about 1/2 a mile, stopped again. Help !!!.

Sounds like something is getting too hot, fuel pump or something electronic too close to a header or rad hose?

I don't know why I didn't check the fuel filter, it was full of Sh***. Couldn't adjust the mixture, screw was rounded. Swapped carb and adjust mixture until the car ran ok and made the trip to a local garage. Set up mixture now HC reading is approx 439 instead of the previous 2291. Now time to book the retest.

I phoned Swansea last week to enquire about which forms I needed. The chap said V627 and V55/4. Is form V55/4 for a Q plate and V55/5 for age related ?

V627/1 from tinterweb. Your car not donor goes in the top right.
V55/5 for age related. Order online only and takes 2 weeks.

That bit was scary as crap at my IVA as I was stood right next to the rear wheel, and the barrier was only 3ft from the rollers.

Also during the 70mph test there was a thick burning smell. Turned out the headers heated up to a proper temperature and there was a clip from a zip tie fallen down the header branches and had been turned to soot. :o

I know they'd chocked the car but I thought if it came off the rollers, it was straight out the doorway !
