Quick question for people that have used the book pedal box with an aluminium floor.
With the bottom part of the pedal box being only bolted to the aluminium floor, is there any flex from stamping on the pedals?
I've been considering welding in a steel plate flush with the bottom tubes to give more solid support.
Any opinions?

Hi i think it would depend on the floor thickness i used 3mm ali floor and i have no flex in mine it is also bolted to the front bulk head plate which i uprated to 3mm also to stop any pedal flex
just a note if you are using the book plans for the pedal box i would uprate the pedal thickness to 5mm plate i have heard of brake/clutch pedals bending when using the book spec 3mm plate for pedals

That's excellent.
I was planning on using 3mm for the floor but I have no idea how strong it is. My bulkhead plate is also 3mm.
Thanks

Make it in one piece, bolt or weld it to frame and bolts through floor.

When I built my pedal box I extended the bottom plate to provide a bit more floor support. I then put a couple of spreader plates under the floor for the bolts to go through.

I welded in a plate flush with the bottom rails and bolted to that aswell through the floor I know it's not going to bend.
