Got sick and tired of the clutter when transferring an engine from the floor to an engine stand and then doing a merry dance with the engine stand while tightening bolts up. I got a lump of pipe and built a swing lift with a hoist on it that travels. Its all welded up as a unit and the hoist swings away when not in use. The engine stand part of it has had some truck engines on it so I know that its good for just about anything. Its a treat to use because its so sturdy and takes up no room when not in use. you can also drop the engine straight off the stand into the car if you build it in the right place. I have used a leccy hoist but a £15 chain one would do the same job. Built from scrap so now I am happy with it I will give it a coat of paint.:) You could build this lot for less than £50

That's got many uses, even putting Heavy or bulky things on the racking.

Nice idea. :D
