Hi,
I don't really understand why you mean buy drag link facing "up" and "down".
The drag link threaded tube on the wishbone should face up, but the drag link bolt into the upright should face down. Long tube of the top front wishbone in the font is correct (that what is setting up the caster angle)

The shock has a 5 inches maximum movement, and it is leaning at 45°, so the maximum vertical movement of the wheel will not be more than 3-4 inches anyway.
Hope this will help :)

Sounds like you may have fitted them on the wrong side and upside down.

Many thanks all sorted for other users what it was was 2 things the first the mushroom was a quarter a turn out facing the split and not the front but the main reason was the shocks they are 13.5" open the extra travel made it bind even though i relocated the mounts a bit but not a problem will just use an 1" helper spring :D
