So... I was in the garage the other day, and thought my engine looked like it was sitting at an ever so slightly jaunty angle.
At first I thought my chepo ebay landrover rubbers must be knackered, then I spotted this :eek:

I'll be remaking those in 6mm rather than 3 then...

Hmm, IIRC 5 mm is suggested in the book for these plates. I have similar problems with my 3 mm alternator bracket and wing stays -- I'll be remaking them in thicker steel.
You're lucky catching this in time, having the engine fall out while pulling off the lights would be so much worse.

You're not wrong, I just checked the book and 5mm plate is specified... :o
That'll teach me for not following the instructions!

Ooops indeed! Just glad I spotted it before it let go completely, that would have been interesting!
