Hi,

Last year I made for Equinox Products ltd (http://www.equinoxproducts.co.uk/) 3D drawings of all the parts of their bodywork, with all measurements.

I got the agreement from Dave at Equinox to publish them here. They are now on my "Google drive", and accessible at this link:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B-iOekLVikV5Q3JNUnQ3NnlmYUk?usp=sharing

Perhaps someone could put them in the "sticky section", or in Alga's FAQ, as a lot of builders want to know bodywork's measurements to mock up, at a stage of their build where they haven't the bodywork yet. So it could be helpful to the community.

Hope this will help :)

Thank you.

Thanks, are you allowed to post the 3d models too?

I'm drawing my car in 3d, and this will help with seeing whats going to fit under my bonnet.

I know the chassis is already available in 3D from http://grabcad.com/library/haynes-roadster-chassis to save you time. It's accurate as well I used it to produce my side panels.

My chassis is already drawn and made, but thanks.

I'm not sure if he did any 3d models. I'll check with Dave later and see if there anything else

I would have thought it would have had to be modelled in 3d to generate the 2d views ?

In that case your best contacting Voucht then as he draw them.

Hi,

Sorry I have been a bit away from the forum since Wednesday, everybody will understand why...

Yes, all drawings have been made in 3D. But not CAD: Drawn on Blender, then exported on Sketchup for making measurements.

The drawings are not 100% accurate though, and I had to "cheat" at some places on the dimensions I wrote on the 2D views, the goal was to show the measurements, not to use the models for production. But for a virtual mock-up, they should be close enough to reality I guess. I just wanted to warn you that my models are not 100% exact. Just the measurements I published on the 2D views are.

So if this is OK for you, and if Dave @ Equinox agrees that I publish the 3D models, I can of course do that.

And also, I made the models from the raw elements I received from Equinox: uncut, untrimmed, etc. So they will need to be virtually cut and trim if you want to use the models to dress-up a virtual 3D chassis :)

I'll ask him for you in a bit.
