Hi,
I have my VIN number from the DVLA so now want to stamp it on some plate and welding it to my chassis.
Two questions.
1. I have use of some metal stamps at work however they are quite big they are about 10mm high letters do you think that's going to be to big? I have read there is a minimum size but not a maximum.

2. Where is best to put it so it can be seen easily? I was thinking of having two, one in the passenger compartment and one in the engine bay
Cheers Dean

Size is not an issue (despite what some may say ;-) ) . It has to be able to be read from the front offside of the car. I stamped the number into two places, the top offside rail and the engine mount area. Then I fitted the car sides and the top rail number was covered - next I fitted an MX5 engine where I had previously had a Pinto engine. The new engine mount covered the stamped in number. I gave up. I stamped up a piece of 25 x 3 mm steel with 20 mm high numbers and waited until the end of the build and then welded it in a prominent position by the brake master cylinder - sorted!

Thank you for the advice.
I have downloaded the IVA manual but I was slightly confused ( not difficult with me )

Thanks for the eBay link think I will order a couple of those.
