Hi Guys,

Looking to buy a sierra steering column to build as to book but not sure which column to get.

Below are the ones I have found.
Can you let me know which would fit too book etc?

Or I do have an MX5 one I was going to try fit?

Cheers!

The last of the four is going to be your best buy as it's complete and has the wheel which is good for placement, price aint too greedy either.

I was thinking that one too.

Or do you think fabricating the MX5 one I have is a better idea, and part easier to get?

Are you using a Ford wiring loom? It's going to be plug and play with Ford switches.... Mazda to Ford could be more trouble than it's worth but then I hate playing with wires, choice is yours.

lol I am an electrical designer, ex auto-electrician and making the wiring harness from scratch. (I design wiring harness and electrical systems every day so no issue there)

Its more if I can get them to mechanically fit.

Ah great, should have guessed really given your delivery address
The later Sierra/Granada columns are adjustable up and down which comes in handy, I don't think the mk1/2 mx5 one is but I stand to be corrected.

Yeah the MX5 one I have isn't adjustable.

Issue seems to be with availability of parts for Sierra now. I could get the last one, then the plastics, then the switches I guess?

And that one should fit as book?

Keep an eye on ebay see what comes up, it's not like you need to IVA/MOT it next week....

Lol true, just ready to weld all the chassis and only bit I have not got is the three box sections that the column mounts too

I can sort that in a few days when I've finished trying to do far too much before Sunday....
