Hi guys, lm using mx5 rear brakes and having trouble routing the handbrake cables to avoid rubbing the chassis.
I’ve tried bending the cable bracket to no avail.
I’ve tried cutting and re-drilling, still no joy.
Has anybody tried swapping the cable over so the cable comes out the rear of the calliper?
Essentially chopping off the nipple guide on the lever and attaching a cable mount then making a plate with a nipple guide on it that bolts back on to the calliper.

Evening
I basically made two new mounts for the callipers a little longer and different angle I then crossed over the cable routing as it goes over the diff so n/s cable goes to the o/s yoke then that goes to single cable to handbrake.
Hope that makes sense.
buzz me your email and ill send you some pics if it helps

Hi Gary, I’m using my version of the talon diff housing so there isn’t much room for cable routing. I might cut two scoops out of the top diff support and weld in a couple of 20mm diameter tubes for the cables to pass through

I stand corrected mine don't swap over they did do!!!
So mine is also a Talon chassis, I have also made some brackets that bolt up with the wishbones and also run it through two large cable clips that are bolted to the inch x inch box section across the top of the diff, although I haven't had it rolling their is plenty of adjustment and cant turn hub with a lever bar.

Are you using Talons diff housing?
I’ve made my own but it means I can’t run the handbrake cables easily past the diff

Do you have a photo of how you’ve ran the cables over the diff?
My handbrake is positioned so it misses the gear lever when in reverse and that means it’s quite far back, which in turn means the handbrake cables are quite far back. Did you shorten your single handbrake cable?
