Hi

Following a drunken discussion about speed cameras, during which the phrase "robbing b@st@rds" was used more than once, I've come up with an idea to banish them from the nation*.

If everone does this they'll be swamped and pack it in - I guarantee it ;)

Method

Drive past one of the "safety" camera vans, at 29.9mph.

Note down the registration.

Have plates made up with the registration and put them on your car.

Drive past the talivan at 70mph.

repeat.

Within 14 days they will receive thousands of Notices of Prosecution from themselves. The fines will be crippling and as you know there is no right of appeal so they'll have to sell the vans to pay the fines.

No need to thank me

Cheers

Chris :)

* I feel I have to point out for the hard of thinking that this is what is called a "joke", please don't try this at home or anywhere else ;)

Just as an update to this, there's an old guy in a Zaffira driving round South Yorkshire parking in the way of the revenue vans.

Described in the local press as "a lovable rogue" he's been warned 15 times but the police haven't found anything to charge him with. Because he has a blue disabled badge he simply parks in front of the camera van blocking it's view of oncoming traffic. Asked in one location what he thought he was doing he replied "Enjoying the view". Police tried to charge him with obstructing an officer, but the CPS refused to continue with the prosecution because he was legally parked courtesy of his disabilty badge. He's followed one van for four days, even pouring a cup of tea for the officer in the van on one occasion. A police spokesman said that his actions were "misguided, inappropriate and damaging to road safety" his response was that the parking was the result of coincidence "I just seem to keep coming across them, I've got a bad knee and I have to park close to places" Police and the local council are looking into recinding his disability badge.

Cheers

Chris :)
