Some of you may have noticed that I have been quiet on the forum this week :D

I heard that loud cheering from here. :p

Spent the entire week so far on my build. Hoping to get the chassis painted in the next few days. :)

Pleased with my progress as this is the first time since January that I have been able to spend some time on the Roadster.

In the Westcountry we only have dial up modems and valvestate Pc's, so it take us a little longer to make posts! LOL

Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie. all this talk but where are the pictures. :D

I thought That I would update you all on my progress thus far

Having dug my chassis out from the darkest corner of my workshop at the end of last month.
I was determined that it was going to have a nice shiny coat of paint on it within two weeks.

Finally being able to post some pictures on the forum was my goal, pictures that I could be proud of ;)

Now Three weeks into my restart & I can honestly say that I am finally running out of bits & bobs to do before painting !!??

Each day I have gone out to the workshop with a list of things to do, as usual for me, I grossly under estimate the time that it will take to do those jobs.

The good news is that I am still feeling well & my energy levels are about parr for the course.

All being well painted by the weekend :o

I would love to think that by the end of the month, I would be able to get my build on its wheels but probably that's a tad unrealistic. Going to run out of steam sooner or later !!??

In the meantime folks, i'll keep on plugging away, doing as much as I am able too ;)

To be honest Andy

It was meeting all of you good folks at Stoneleigh that gave me the burning desire to restart my buid. ;)

I was lucky enough to see Spikehaus's build in the flesh a short while ago, that gave me an even bigger kick up the ass :D
It made me realise that I am not too far behind his progress & in fact, most of the hard work is done. :)

Cheers for the offer Jas :)

Jobs left to do !!??

Cut & weld little squares to cap all of the open ends of the chassis tubes

Make & fit CP17

Weld the round bits to the end of the headlamp stalks

Finally have a good re-read of the book to make sure that I have not missed anything

Ohhh & find out where CP9 & CP25 plates go !!??
May have used them allready but to be honest bu**ered if I know :o :D

Once I have done that little lot, preperation ready for the primer & topcoat

i believe CP9 & CP25 go in the rear tub area, bracing bits for uprights of the rear tub, i say i believe as i don,t need them with the Triton tub. ;) :)

Cheers Andy

Whilst I am on here.

I am looking for the general dimensions of Fabbys nosecone

Having obtained a Nissan Micra radiator today it is looking a tad too tall

To be exact, I am wanting to know the height of the noscone above the front frame / top rails & how far forward the radiator can come out from the bottom of the front frame without hitting the inside of the lower part of the nonescone !!?? ;)

If the radiator is suitable, I can then fabricate the radiator mountings. That will be one less area of paintwork to damage :o

You are dead right Andy.

Just located them in the book.

I sort of done my own thing in that area, thats one less job to do then ;) :D

Well back out to the workshop, nose to the grindstone & all that

Lets see if I can manage to get more than 2 jobs done today  :o

took me a while to work out where those bits went, as i,m not using them i thought i must,ve missed something elsewhere on the chassis  :D

have a good day on your build, my plan is the footwell plates & cut out the rail to allow the gearbox to go in & finish the engine/box mounts.

cheers

I managed to get a fair bit done today.

Just the Radiator mounts to do tomorrow, then i'll be finished with the welder for the time being.

Many thanks to Andy for the measurements, it will take the guesswork out of the rad mounts. ;)

I dare say after the weekend, I'll be fed up with painting. Not my favourite of jobs. :o
