Yep, glad its back.
But as thousands of posts are missing then I guess that means either they are gone forever (no back up?) or they may be put back when Chris returns?

Whilst it's good to see the forum back, without all the back catalogue of posts, it's practically useless.

Sadly I agree. Its a bit of a shame that the forums been demolished. A lot of the useful posts have gone. I guess its time to start rebuilding them :D Although I'm hoping Chris might turn up with some backups etc...

Some of the above is rather negative and quite unnessesarily so.
all the knowledge is still there and many of us are quite far along in our builds.
I for one will be happy to help out any genuine builders out there, all i ask in return is that you are not rude or here just to cause trouble.

I completely agree Ray :)
Yes some of the subject matter may be gone for the time being, The brains that put it there are all still here. ;)
I am sure that it will not be too long before all of the major information is re-posted.
The forum cannot be described as useless........ Don't understand the thinking behind that statement

How did so many people manage to post in the morning? I tried to log in before work but it was still down. Still, great to be back, My post may be missing, but at least I am still a Senior Member- or not.....poor me.
Did all members lose posts, or just some of us?

Not too sure as Bonzo (http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/member.php?u=332) has 500ish but I don't know what he had the other day.
It is a shame that we have lost so many posts but i'm sure eventually it will be back to where it was. We just have to see many posts that have already been answered before but don't have a post any more:( :(

It was 120 for me, but most where the original posts I made, when I was not so wise. Still, lets think of it as a very late spring clean. I did originally wonder if certain members where targeted? But now I think maybe they just started at the beginning and just deleted in whatever order? Such a shame really. Still, all that is lost knowing that the forum is open again.

One of those things that happens, I belong to an AMX forum and have so for about 12 years.
In that time it has crashed or gone through several transformations where it all had to be rebuilt.
Surprisingly though it takes very little time to regroup and get back most of the information as it just rebuilds itself as people get involved again.
In some ways even better as new people tend to feel they are now on a level playing field and will contribute more than before, being somewhat intimidated by the more senior or knowledgable posters.
The forum is back and that is what counts.
