Me and the Missus to a revivalist meeting on Sunday.

On the way out we bought a car sticker with the words "Honk if you love the Lord" printed on it. My other half fixed it to the back bumper of our car.

On the way home I stopped at traffic lights. I was lost in thought about our uplifting spiritual experience and didn't notice the lights changing.

Fortunately I was brought to my senses by another religious enthusiast who, seeing my bumper sticker, began honking crazily and then leaned out of his window screaming "GO, go, for heaven's sake, go, go".

What an exuberent cheerleader he was for the Lord. I was overcome by this joyful display so leaned out of my window and waved and smiled.

Another driver, further down the queue, leaned out of his car window and waved in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my wife what this meant and she said it was the Hawaiian gesture of goodwill. I honked my horn a few times and returned his loving gesture.

The two men then got out of their cars and walked towards me. I think they were going to chat about the Lord, but I noticed that the lights were green so not wanting to cause obstruction, I drove off.

I looked back and saw the two men had not made it in time so they and the rest of the queue were still stuck at the traffic lights. I was sorry to lose my new found friends, but had to get home so I leaned out the window and gave thenm the Hawaiian gesture of goodwill, honked a few times, and drove on.

Isn't it wonderful what a simple car sticker can do?
