Does anyone know what the deal is with windscreen scratches and insurance policies?
If you've got a (MOT failing) scratch on your screen, is that covered under the windscreen damage clause of car insurance?

Hi Jeff,
Has it scratched been scratched by the windscreen wiper arm/blade? If yes then it's unlikely you'll get that repaired on the insurance any other scratch I would have thought would be accidental damage.

If you have windscreen cover, find out what company your insurer uses. ( If any )
It'll be Autoglass or the likes. Get the company to have a look, you may very well find out that according to them the screen dammage is, er,um not repairable & the damage is accidental ;)
They invoce you insurer direct, all you'll have to pay is your policy windscreen excess. :)
They are are all keen for the work ........ if you know what I mean :D :D
