wow Ray, you,re doing well on costs  i thought mine was doing well, currently stands at £1460, few more major bits to buy then the IVA costs/retest + insurance + tax should see it on the road for approx £2800, after the trackday in spuds car i think its very good "smiles per £" :D
i,m 6 months into the build, hoping for IVA in january.

Chris, try this McLaren for size:

491

492

493

494

495

I bought it about 10 years ago and used to race them at an outdoor track at Halifax, its 1:5 scale and has full adjustable suspension and disc brakes all round, 23cc two-stroke engine and run on pertrol. Also tuned exhaust and sticky tyres. They are great fun as they have similar handling to a full size car, still hard to control though.

Only problem is that once you start racing them it becomes expensive as you need fresh tyres of different compounds and the tuning bits aren't cheap. Roadster's much better though and more fun.....:)

Well, I'm part way there on the Macca F1. I have one in the garage, well I say one, I mean a bit. Well, actually its a used carbon brake disc from a racing one. When I get round to it, it'll have a clock in the middle and hang it on the wall.

So technically I am nearly an F1 owner, I just need the rest :D
