After another ponder, I remembered something I did in the past on another forum:o

How/where did you get your username??

Now, for some peeps, this is obvious, but less so for others.

Once again I will start:D

Londonsean69. Well, funny enough I come from London, and am called Sean.

As for the 69:rolleyes: when I setup my very first email account, londonsean was taken, so being full of youth, thought it would be very clever to have a bit of innuendo in there as well, so added the 69.

It's stuck now, and is the username I use on any forum I join.

Well.

Ginge, because, you guessed it well done.

A1 POM because my trade in the Army is a Plant Operator Mechanic and as you work your way up the POM ladder the top trade course you can do is your A1

I think I made that sound more complicated than it is, hay ho.:o

That makes perfect sense to me actually - I spent years in Army cadets, and was looking at a TA placement with the Irish Rifles (part of the London regiment). However, my heart conspired against me:(

Sean,

Did you go to Cadets in London? I was in the ACF in Harrow (not the school) for 5 years and still go back and help out on there annual camp.

Jasongray5, Because my name is Jason Gray. And 5, because I used to play second row in rugby, untill my shoulder had other ideas! I dare say, if I get drunk at stoneliegh, I will bring out my party trick and pop it out of joint!

Yeah, SW London ACF.

Part of 14 group, even though our unit was 138 (Queens - rebadged to PWRR). It was moved a couple of times, used to be 147 in 14 group, then they changed the boundaries, so became 138 (in 13 group). Boundaries changed again went back into 14 group but kept 138 - bullsh1t baffles brains:D

Annual camp was sweet - messing about down St Martins plain, and all the weekends away at Longmoor. Fun times, taught me a lot (including discipline) - all kids should do it

Mate,

I was 201 RAMC part of 20gp. One of only 11 RAMC Cadet units in the UK. The mad medics we called our selves.

Royal Engineers now and for the last 18 years (only 11 to push)

Happy days.:D

Land Locked

Land Locked cause I'm far from the ocean I grew up close to. It's my nick on all the forums I'm on.

VladD

Many, many years ago I worked in the IT department of a water company. A friend who worked with me sent me an e-mail and signed it "Conan the Librarian", which I thought was quite funny. It must have been around the time of Bill Clinton and his "I'm smoked weed but didn't inhale" saga, and so I signed my reply, "Vlad the Inhaler". This got shortened to "Vlad D Inhaler" and ultimately just VladD.

Dogwood...

My nickname since I left school has been Dog, and various derivatives of that.
My wife calls me "Dino" From the Flintstones, Dino the dog.

The rest was...."Who would do something as stupid as that?"..Dog would
...But that's a silly name So "Dogwood"

And as Land Locked, It's my user on all forums, Well all the ones that I'll admit to..

spud69
27th October 2009, 08:28 PM
Spud69 because when i was a kid my 4 uncles, who lived next door, used to pester me with the name spud and it stuck. Name was already taken on a previous forum and it suggested spud69 and it stuck, again for the innuendo factor.....:)

Bonzo

Bonzo

That's the name my two older brothers gave me when I was a little nipper

I believe it has something to do with the 60's pop group " The bonzo dog do da band " :o

It has stuck ever since :)

aerosam
27th October 2009, 11:07 PM
Well aerosam came about, just over 10 years ago when i started my apprenticeship as an aerospace engineer I was 16 and dead proud of it. Joined a ford Capri forum,it was the first thing that popped into my head, and just used it ever since.

And it rolls off the tongue quite nicely too.

And if it's not entirely obvious, I'm called Sam. (except when Mum's not happy with me, in which case it's Samuel!!!)

Balidey
28th October 2009, 09:59 AM
I used to use my nickname from Uni, which was skippy, but when trying to register on another forum it was already taken, and I had not been called skippy for a few years as I had lost contact with most Uni mates. So I needed a new username that no one would have already taken.
At the time I was racing in a moped team (stop laughing at the back) and we had a Honda Melody that we fitted a Honda Bali engine into. (I said stop laughing at the back) so we called our creation a Balidy. I liked the name, used a bit of poetic license on the spelling, And I have been Balidey on all forums since.

As for username, mine is one I use on all forums, I was trying to think of a user name for a Shadows (as in Hank Marvin ect)forum and thought of Shadow for the group and caster because I am besotted with the Fender Stratocaster.

That sounds cool to me Mark

I'll be the first one to admit, although I like the thrill of speed, I have never experienced a track & have never been shown the finer arts of driving. :o
