how much steel

Can anyone please tell me how much steel you need for the roadster chassis and what type of steel as the book is a little vague on this, and also the best place to get steel cheers..

The book isn't that vague:confused:

True, there isn't actually a full cutting list, but using a calculator lets you find that out.

Ho hum, a simple search also brings this up - by me, scarily enough steel link (http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2771)

As for where to order it from - no idea for Northamptonshire, I'm sure someone else will know, but have a look in your yellow pages for "Steel stockholders" Or you could always trawl around any local engineering firms

put it this way.... out of just under 42mtrs of steel i only waste 13 inches from a chassis kit :cool: & that includes 2 spare lengths in case of emergencies ( a slight error ;) )

you know me David :D tight as a ducks backside....... out of those 13 inches i,ve found a use for 6 inches of it, made a jig for the precise point of the cut/bend/weld in the front frame ;) :o

waste not want not my old man used to say ;)
