motorbike exhaust

a frend has just dropped round an exhaust of his ducate. he upgraded to a race exhaust and has given me his standard silencer for my build. can i just use it or is there something i need to do to it first?

I have one on mine and it works a treat, passed the noise test no problem, as Ash says - Just use it...:)
