Today while waiting at the lights on a round about I saw a Hit and Run, strangely neither driver stopped and both acted as if it didn't happen. A dark grey Mazda 3 grazed the rear bumper on a white Ford Transit which rocked the stationary transit pretty hard but did little damage other than a small ding and some paint on the bumper while the Mazda suffered considerably more damage to the tune of probably £2000 worth. The passenger door mirror was damaged and there was a crease the entire length of all 3 panels along that side.
Afterwards the light didn't change for 30 seconds or so and the woman knew what she had done so was looking in her Rear-view mirror to see if the Van driver would react but as he didn't she drove off. I can only speculate why the Van Driver didn't react, it may be that he thought something shifted in the back which cause the noise and the movement.
I would love to be a fly on the wall when she tries to explain how the crease in her car came to be either to the insurance or her spouse if one exists. I imagine it will have little basis in reality.
