Hi all,

I'm finally removing my DOHC engine. Question is this;

Attached to the inlet manifold (the cast section with EFI on it), on the left hand side about 2/3rds of the way up is a cable/pipe from the manifold to the area where the master cylinder was mounted.

I NEED TO DIS-CONNECT IT!!

I can't find it in a manual, online or any other reference, so I don't know what it is, what it does or how to remove it!!

Any help would mean I could remove it & crack on.

Thanks in advance.

If that's a pipe of about 1/4 - 3/8 inch diameter it's the one that goes to the MAP sensor, which was located on the side of the engine bay next to the servo. There will be an electrical cable going to more or less the same point which is for the MAP sensor and the mixture trim pot if your car is pre cat.
Enoch.

Guys,

It appears Adrian is right- it is going where he says it is, it is that size & it does have a valve in the middle.

Question remains;

How do I or what do I use to remove it? I really don't want to damage it. I'm sure I will need to replace it at a later date due to the routing once into the engine bay, but removing it properly would give me an insight into it's workings.

Thanks again

Yeah I think Enoch probably has it if it's rubber.

The Servo pipe will be rigid black plastic.

The car won't run correctly without the map sensor.

If it's the servo one then you wont need it again..

Get a piccy up so we can see it for sure..
