The wire feed controll on my welder was playing up something rotten yesterday

Feeling a bit knacked today, I thought " I know, I'll sort that bloody welder out " ??

I know what the problem is .... The potentiometer on the wire feed PCB is FUBAR.

How hard can it be to find a new one to solder onto the board, methinks .... As it tuns out, very hard !!

Drew a blank at Maplins and RS Components !!

After 4 hours of web searching I think I may have found what I need :)

The lack of meaningful markings on the potentiometer didn't help .... I only had, 2K2 330M to go by.
To be honest, those in the know, probably know exactly how the identify that potentiometer from those markings .

I was getting so hacked off web surfing, I was tempted to bite the bullet & buy a complete PCB for the welder .... Well searching for that part turned out to be even more difficult .... Couldn't find any Cebora spare parts at all :D

My endless searching led me to the following value for the potentiometer 2K2 = 2.2k ohm resistance & the 330m is the form factor of the pot ( Square plastic body. with a 6mm thick Long shanked spindle !!??

If any electronic boffins can confirm it would be reassuring to know that I have found the right part ;)

Thankfully my mig welder is fixed once more :)

I managed to track down the right value potentiomer .... Downside, Two types available, Linear or Log !!

Well at 69p each, I lashed out & bought both :D

Fitted the linear one first, wire speed controll was OK but not great .... Took that one out & replaced it with the log one, much, much better :)

I have noticed that the speed controll is now over a much narrower range of the knob !!

I would hazzard a guess that there must be another underlying fault in the PCB !!
However, for now I have a good wire speed controll & that will do for me now.

If anyone out there knows of a source for Cebora mig welder spares, I would be pleased to know.
Quite an elderly machine now, at a guess nearly 20 years old but it has been a reliable workhorse & at this moment of time, I don't want to spend upwards of 2k replacing it !!

The Roadster must come first ;)
