hi all, been really interested in building one of these for a really long time, and now i have the space to do it, ive been reading up alot more about them! first step was the book, which arrived yesterday. great book, looking forward to putting it to good use!! it may be a while before i get started, but looking to use a bmw donor, either e30 or e36, hopefully a 2.5, ive had quite a few e30's in the past so i thought atleast im used to them and there faults. ive read some of your posts, some nice builds going on! hopefully mine will be as succesful!
thanks.
andrew.

Think there's at least one person doing a 6cyl here. Seen a few M20's in locosts and even an E36 M3 lump.. And someone one here has the 5L V8.. There's a startup vid somewhere recent!!

Welcome..

My Bro lived in dundee untill about 3 years ago.

I am sure there is but I am rubbish at remembering who is using what.:D

I tried a search using BMW Engine but the key word engine threw up way to many returns to check and BMW resulted in no returns:eek: (I can’t believe that).

Someone with a better memory will be along soon.

When I trial fitted my 4 pot (don’t laugh;) 1.8 CVH) I recon I could have fitted another two cylinders in easy. I know it is not that easy but you get my drift.:D

There are people on here with V six’s and eights, anything is possible with good research and engineering.

Cheers Ginge

his engine start is in his blog.

My M8 who lives in Austria bought from the UK, a LHD E39 M5 with the 5L V8 unseen and got his folkes who live across the road from me to collect it for him. I got to sit in it before he had even seen it in the flesh, I got to turn the key and listen to the throbbing V8 before he did... I rubbed it in big style.. It sounded awesome through it's custom headders and exhaust. .. But it costs him abot £3k in road tax in Austria

i did think audi, my brother has a 1.8 turbo abandoned in his drive, still tempting but i also have a twin turbo 300zx im sorting and i know the troubles turbos can cause the wallet. i had thought 5 pot volvo, but presumably in a tank like that it would be rather heavy. t5r would be quite amusing on the pants in the roadster!!!
