Went to a local dorset car show this sunday was a great day and had my nissan stagea on a show stand on the way home i got sideswiped by a girl in a corsa fighting a wasp..... end result 2.5k of repairs on my car. 95% sure the insurance is going to write it off. Now the good news... if i buy back the car i can have a nice low millage skyline RB25DET engine to use for my project. its kinda large 30inchs long from back of block to front of pullys think this would fit? :D its 23inch wide but thats with all the stock rubbish on and that can be shrunk down loads. Any ideas welcome!

Someone has built a book car with a Viper engine so anything is possible.

The length of the engine bay is 685 mm, or almost 27 inches.

Damn dont think its going to be long enough =( humm wounder what options i have as i plan to use a sierra donor. guess i can use a locost McSorley 7+442.

All measurements are from the firewall to the 2nd from front cross bar.

Yeah it was lazy sunday i was on the DJCC stand. I live between Blandford and Salisbury was on the main road that i got smacked. Got a phone call from her insurance saying i went on to her side of the road now lol.

I measured up these engines along with an e36 m3 one and they are both very large engines! im not saying it isnt possible but it would take alot of redesign of certain aspects and lots of work and head scratching :D Not sure how you would get the turbo and manifold and intercooler and all the rest of it in the bay. Maybe worth asking the people in the know how much power and more importantly torque the chassis can safely take in standard form

Anyway back to your original question! im not sure if the standard sierra diff would take that ammount of power but im sure whatever the cossies use will be up to the job (im sure tt will let you know)

And after all the work and money spent which will be alot you will have a drag car that will be like shit of a shovel rather than what the sevenesque cars are all about which is agility. Not sure how much the massive lump would upset the handling

Dont get me wrong it would be an amazing build and of similar lines of what i originally wanted to do but after being out in a 175bhp roadster (spuds) and seeing what it could do i changed my mind! sub 4s 0 to 60mph is quick enough for most people but it still has the agility to match

My car has just had the carbs set up and is 105bhp and 140lbs of torque, not much but it can take my brothers mr2 turbo up 65mph then he steams past but include a few corners and he cant get near :D

Not saying dont do it by any means, infact i would love too see it done, just think of what you want from the finished car before you spend tons of money and lots of time on it. A basic build with a sierra takes long enough!

Indeed loads of work but I do love my engine! Thing is if I go with the rb engine/box and a single donor sierra think I would most probably get a q plate. Not the end of the world. With slot of planning it can be done turbo is on pasanger side so a little more room as no steering in the way. I think a 10cm stretch might be a good idea!
