Pos a book error. It says to align cp10 with the back of sb4. Now the front of sb4 is 269mm long and cp10 is 268mm. But the back of sb14 goes down by 17 degrees so cp10 won't fit. Any idea what I should do?

I can't help you with the measurements as I don't have the book here.

What I can tell you is CP10 must fit flush with the back of SB4
Because that's where the diff bracket bolts to.

:o :D

As David has said, CP10 must align flush with the rear face of SB4,s as the CP10.s are the main chassis plates for the diff hangers,

As you have found , due to the angle of SB4,s & the length of CP10,s "it doesn,t fit"............

You are not the first builder to have come across this & others in the past, including me have removed a little off the CP10 to get it to fit "snugly", but ensuring it fits on the rearward face of SB4 to aid the flush fitting of the diff hangers.

Don,t forget the holes in CP10 are spaced differently & so must be placed the correct way up.

hope this helps,

cheers
andy:)

to get cp10 to fit scribe a line 25 mm from the bottom (hole center) then do the same on the back face of the 2 vertical tubes of the seat back trim the top end to suit with the two scribed lines in line
i made them 4mm shorter all removed from the top end of cp10 to get the hole center 25mm above the base tube as shownin the diagram
hope that clears it up

why not just redrill the holes in the right place
you could also weld up the old holes if you need too

Ok, just come across this problem myself. Am I right then taking the excess material off the top of CP10 and therefore maintaining the 25mm edge distance, and correct positon/height of diff from the table?

Yes take the excess off the top to maintain the 25mm from the bottom.
