Hi guys,
I'm gonna be making up some dummy shocks to sit my build on and wanted to check the rough size I should make them to me as close as possible to sitting the right height? On a conversation with Handyandy I think he mentioned 14" but can't remember to be sure. Does this sound about right?

Cheers
Russ

I was just about to ask the same question.
and what is the dimension of the hole centre to hole centre.
and hole diameter.

Hi folk's

The free length of the standard shock is indeed 14" & ( Eye to eye ), that length will be just fine so as you can get to wheel a rolling chasis about :)

I guess if you wanted to simulate a completed cars ride height you could reduce them to about 12" or so ?

Never thought to measure the free length of my shocks when I had the engine & gearbox fitted in my rolling chassis :o

Aim for a bottom rail chassis height of 4 to 4 1/2 at the front and 5 to 5 1/2 at the rear.
