I'm just finishing off my pedal box. Can anyone help with the plastic bushes? Are they available commercially or if I have to make them? Does anyone know a supplier of a suitable plastic available in the UK? Also do I need to add an anti crush tube?
First posting on the Forum so be gentle with me!

Many thanks 3GE / John I hadn't seen the kit on your site. I may well take you up on a set but I'm trying to make as much of the car as is practical so I'll have a go at machining some if I can find the material. If I bomb out I know where to find you.

No problem, if you want to purchase plastic bushes, Igus are the best, they can be purchsed direct from Igus UK, http://www.igus.co.uk/wpck/default.aspx?PageNr=2400
We use self lubing oilite bushes, with a crush tube, that never need to be greased once assembled.
Kind regards

Trif,
I have some 25mm Oilon rod left. I had my dad turn my bushes out of that.
Just cover the postage. PM me if you want a bit.

Not on commision but 3GE's kit is extremely well made and attention to detail is above and beyond expectations.

I used the 3GE ones as well Paul :)
Very pleased with them .... It's as if the pedals were running in bearings, smooth as you like & without a hint of drag

Cheers everyone for your replies. I'm trying to make as much as I can inhouse. If I hit a brick wall I'll definitly follow your recommendations and use the 3GE bushes.

Trif,
Only got posting to you today, sorry, last couple of days been crap at work. You will find you probably will not have a big shoulder left on the bush but it will be enough. If a find the spare one I have I'll post a picture. I'm at the stage I can find F'all in the garage, bits everywhere.

Thanks for that Les, I just finished my pedal box (bar the bushes) and it is a LOT of filing. Working to a budget though and managed to make it for under a tenner. Hope to get my blog up to date this weekend and put a link on the forum to everyone a chuckle!
