I’m trying to get my blog sorted and up to date so that I can add a link in my signature . I ‘ve setup a Google account to host it and I have up-loaded my pictures to Picsar. What I would like to do is to use the same pictures in some of my posts. When I tried to use these pictures the URL appeared to be blocked, at least the picture when published on the post appeared as a white square with a red X in it. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

Hi Trif

I use Photobucket to host my pictures, all I do is copy & paste the images, direct link into my forum post.

Works ok for me

Hope it is of some help :)

Cheers for that I'll give it a go. I'd just hoped to use the one set of up-loaded pics cos the less time I spend on the 'net the more time on my build!

If you are wanting to post a link to your build photos on the host site, you'll need to find the relevant address for the page in question & try the following.

Here's how it works for me.

Copy the address I want to paste

When I am ready to insert the link into my post I hit the insert link button (Globe & chain symbol )

When I hit the button the first time I get a prompt ( Near the top of the page ) That says something like " This site is using scripted windows "

Click on that prompt & choose the " Temporarily allow scripted windows " option ( This may be the reason as to why the address bar appears to be locked )

Once you have allowed scripted windows, click on the insert link button once more.
Delete the http:// from the text box ( not needed if your address already contains this ) & then paste the address that you copied, click OK & you should be done.

Probably easier ways to do it but that's how it works for me :)

Put your copied url between the two image tags.

Thanks everyone I managed to crack it. Picsar very limited, by using imgur.com I found a url format designed for message boards and followed the advice above.
