Hi Guys
I am not sure if I seen it on here but do the rear roll bar bar mounts now have to have two bolt mounts per side for the IVA or one as per book.

Hi Rob,

I think the posts you are referring to were about Ash G,s IVA test, where he was told he needed 2 fixing bolts,
I,m not 100% sure if it is stipulated in the IVA manual for the number of bolts needed, maybe its another "depends on each individual tester,s opinion".

My own back stays go right down to the bottom of the chassis as I,m using a GRP rear tub which has a different rear framework than the book spec one, so I used 2 roll bar mounting plates ( same as on the upper mounting points), welded in a 3mm plate to the chassis & bolted the lower back stays to that plate with 4 bolts on each side, so there is 16 bolts securing my roll bar , seems very strong & also allows me to remove the roll bar if needed etc.

cheers

thanks for the reply Andy . I think its best to go belt and braces on this one it would be a shame if the IVA tester failed because of my one bolt mounting I wouldn,t be happy having to reweld after painting my chassis .

Totally agree Rob
My own roll bar back stays may be "over the top" but there is no way an IVA tester can say its not secured to the chassis :D

I made a set of plates to allow me to use 2 bolts to be on the safe side like the ones in the top picture below
