Fingers crossed, my 2.9 V6 may just clear a standard Saturn Bonnet without any modification!
Set up guide points on the chassis, had the engine and box level
and rand a tape from the guides. Looks like I have a little clearance even without the bulge.
I need to make the engine mounting arms, what thickness plate have people used for the engine plate?
Cheers

I used 10mm plate for where the mounts attach to the side of the block, made the engine mounts & used Land Rover V8,s rubber mounts to the chassis.

Nice one TT
I used some 6mm plate for my engine plates but would have preferred 8mm if I had some here .
Personaly, I would use 8-10mm plate with that engine of yours Rob ;) :)

Easy peasy .... 1mm thick slitting disk in a dangle grinder ( Knife through butter ) ;) :)
Keep your cut lines simple & round the corners off & de burr with a flap disk.
A lot easier than it sounds.

Will have to get some plate and give it a whirl.
if the bonnet does clear unaltered then I will be well happy.
Exhaust manifolds have no chance of working at least on the drivers side the center of the outlet is almost centered on the end of the column... I may try flipping it or swapping round variations of the left and right to find a solution before fabricating..

I have used 6mm too with no probs
Its only bolted to 3mm engine mounts at the end of the day so you dont have to go too mad with the thickness as long as they are well made and designed
If you do go 8 or 10mm the thin cutting discs are the way to go as bonzo says, like a knife through butter, im still impressed by them when i use them and ive been using them for years!

I am going for 10mm .. But I am cheating.
I don't think I can get the original manifolds to work either so getting some exhaust flanges made up.
